Svyazinvest may not sell mobile subsidiares

Russia’s state-backed telecoms holding firm Svyazinvest is reconsidering its plan to sell its mobile networks. The group owns stakes in the country’s seven mega-regional fixed-line operators; three of these firms; Sibirtelecom, Uralsvyazinform and VolgaTelecom; also have cellular operations.

Rostelecom sees slow growth

Pannon headquarters built with geothermic heating

Pannon has installed an environmentally friendly heating system in its new head office which uses 180 geothermic heat probes drilled 100 meters deep to provide cold and hot water regulating temperature in the building. This is reported to be the seventh largest project of its kind in Europe.

Huawei install fibre network for MT

GTS bought by equity firms

Boston-based M/C Venture Partners and Columbia Capital as part of a syndicate of private equity firms have bought telecommunications service operator GTS Central Europe, officials said. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Zapp to start rolling out UMTS
