Arna loses connection

Posted on Friday 4 April 2008

Kazakh ISP Arna has had its access to Kazakhtelecom’s network backbone suspended due to failure to pay for services. Arna owes Kazakhtelecom KZT 637.99 million (USD 5.29 million), a debt it has been accumulating since 2003.

In 2005 Arna and  Kazakhtelecom sign two agreements to pay off the debt but Arna has failed to comply, Kazakhtelecom said in a statement. Kazakhtelecom has now cut Arna off and says the ISP has been misrepresenting the situation in the media.
