New utility payments via SMS

Posted on Wednesday 21 May 2008

Bulgarians will now be able to pay their utility bills via SMS using a new electronic payments system ePay.bg called ePayGSM.

To use the service, customers need a valid mobile phone number and an active bank account from one of the 21 ePay.bg partner banks. For BGN 0.9, users can register via telephone, online or in a bank office. Via the new m-payment system, customers can pay their utility bills as well as phone, CATV bills, leasing, credits and rents. Every month, the system sends an SMS to the customers, containing the amount to be paid and payment instructions. To complete the payment, users must answer to this message, according to the instructions.
