Orange win new Slovak frequencies

Orange, Slovakia’s largest cellco, has won a tender for a new mobile frequency, Slovak telecommunications office spokesman Roman Vavro told AFP.

“The tender winner is Orange with an offer of 40 million koruna (EUR1.3 million). This means broadening of broadband Internet services’ penetration.”

The office picked Orange, a unit of France Telecom, from three bids that were posted by Tuesday. The other bidders were the Irish Web development company Irish Logic System and Telefonica. Price was the only criterion in the tender, which came with a SKK30 million minimum.
