Overview
Ukraine’s Mobile Market consists of four noteable operators who make up over 99 percent of the market. They are Kyivstar, MTS, life:) and Beeline, smaller operators include PEOPLEnet and Inter-Telecom.
Kyivstar
Kyivstar are the largest operator, founded in 1994, and it controls 42 percent of the market with over 20 million operators. The company is a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway and Russia’s Alfa Group.
MTS
Ukrainian Mobile Communications was the first company to introduce mobile services to Ukraine in 1993, initially on the analog NMT standard, then upgraded to GSM 900/1800.
The company is now fully owned by MTS Ukraine and has rebranded to reflect this.
