Five companies submitted bids for Hungary’s sale of licences to the 450 MHz and part of the 26 GHz mobile telecommunications frequencies, the country’s NHH communications authority said Friday.
It didn’t reveal the identities of the bidders.
NHH added that a separate deadline for submitting bids for a ‘full mobile service’ license for the 900/1800/2100 MHz frequency package and for the accompanying part of the 26 GHz frequency has been extended to 12 December.
The 450 MHz frequency licence is primarily aimed at boosting broadband service availability at small dwellings and in underdeveloped regions. The use of the 26 GHz frequency is aimed at increasing wireless, broadband Internet coverage.
