Telenor’s Russian unit is once again being sued over the Kyivstar debacle, this time for USD 3.8 billion in a Siberian court by a minority shareholder in Vimpelcom. The claim is very similar to the USD 1 billion claim made by Russia’s Alfa Group in March.
Telenor said in a news release:
“The lawsuit’s claims against Telenor are that Telenor harmed Vimpelcom by preventing Vimpelcom from purchasing Kyivstar and delaying Vimpelcom’s purchase of Ukrainian Radio Systems.”
