The telecoms regulator Bulgaria, CRC, has announced plans to auction off a block from the GSM1800 spectrum, specifically it will be offering two 5MHz blocks in the 1800MHz spectrum. Applications must be filed within twenty-one days.
The country currently has three operational cellcos: MobilTEL (50.44 percent), Globul (38.58 percent), and Vivatel (10.98 percent); figures in brackets are marketshare according to the Blycroft Database. The market itself has a mobile penetration level of 125 percent.
