Synterra profits up 250 percent

The Russian fixed-line and WiMAX operator Synterra has reported a 250 percent increase in net profits for 2007 to USD 138 million. Revenues for the year more than doubled to USD 449 million.

“The considerable revenue growth in 2007 was primarily due to organic growth in the business of the Synterra Group,” the company said in a statement which was reported by RIA Novosti.

Synterra operates a 65,000km long-distance network covering 70 Russian regions and also uses WiMAX technology to connect end users.
