K-Telecom, which trades in Armenia under the VivaCell brand, is aiming to launch its 3G network in the early part of 2009.
K-Telecom is a subsidiary of Russian mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), it is initially planning to launch with 3G coverage in the capital Yerevan and two other cities, Gyumri and Vanadzor, offering a range of high speed mobile services and data transmission.
The operator was allocated spectrum in October 2007, along with ArmenTel (Beeline), which has also made public its intention to launch 3G services in 2009.
