Comstar has its completed construction of a multiservice IP MPLS-based network in Engels, Saratov.

The construction and commissioning of the network in Engels was done by a daughter company of Comstar in Saratov, Konversiya Svyaz.

The overall length of the network with its own fiber-optic lines makes 4 km data rate is 1 Gbps with the possibility to scale up to 10 Gbps. A fiber-optic line connects the metro network with Saratov transport NGN comprising 22 access nodes.

In the second quarter of the year, the company will launch digital triple play services, such as local telephony, broadband internet (ADSL+ up to 24 Mbps, Ethernet up to 100 Mbps), IPTV, leased lines provision, VPN arrangement and video-conferencing. Comstar plans to create a Saratov branch incorporating the Konversiya Svyaz and TK Overta subsidiaries.
