Russian mobile retailer Euroset has launched a SIP telephony service under its own brand. Subscribers can make calls and send SMS from the Euroset website or by using a softphone installed on their PC or laptop, or downloaded in the USB-phone memory.
Customers need to buy a universal Euroset card, a USB phone (two Skypemate China-made models worth RUB 499 and RUB 899) or computer headsets. A subscriber can check his account details online as well call details and payments made on the web interface. The service is planned to be launched in every Russian region by the end of 2008, but is currently only available in the company’s Moscow and St. Petersburg outlets.
