Magyar still interested in Telekom Slovenije

Magyar Telekom is reportedly still interested in buying into Slovenia’s national telecoms operator after a privatisation tender earlier this year drew insufficient bids, according to Reuters.

Magyar Telekom, under pressure to expand abroad to offset a bearish growth outlook at home, said it was still in the market for a stake in its Slovenian peer.“Just because we were excluded in the last round doesn’t mean we’re not interested,” Magyar Telekom Chairman and Chief Executive Christopher Mattheisen said. “We were interested in it for a reason then. If it hasn’t gone yet, we’re still interested in it, at the right price.”
